As a Human Resources Specialist with Gentiva, you will:
•Interacts with management and associates to resolve associate relations issues. Interprets policies and procedures and counsels management on the consistent and appropriate application of policies.
•Investigates employment law issues and complaints as requested (i.e., discrimination, harassment, wage & hour, new legislation, etc.) and other grievances; prepares analyses and makes recommendations for resolution to Regional Human Resources Director.
•Reviews associate performance cases and related issues and recommends initiation of disciplinary action, separations, etc. Works with field managers to prepare action plans and participants in associate counseling sessions/terminations as required.
•Assists in the implementation of communications to support roll-out of new HR programs/ initiatives and ongoing implementation of existing programs/policies. Promotes positive associate relations. Conducts associate meetings to communicate programs and policies.
•Participates in the presentation of new HR programs. Coordinates related training programs (e.g., performance management, sexual harassment, diversity, etc.). Travels throughout the region to conduct local training programs for branch personnel. Assists in the implementation of HR initiatives including retention, work/life, recognition and community involvement.
•Actively assists in the recruitment of branch personnel including screening, interviewing and selection of candidates. Conducts exit interviews on key personnel at the request of line management or Regional Director of Human Resources.
•Conducts exit interview and prepares summary data with recommendations for review by Regional Director of HR
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or the equivalent plus a minimum of three years associate relations experience.
•Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, training techniques and conducting investigations required.
•Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
•Effective problem-solving, interpersonal and negotiation skills required.
•Multi-site experience preferred.
•Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills required.
