IS Project Manager - Plymouth, MN

Through our family of companies, we contribute outstanding clinical insight with consumer-friendly services and advanced technology to help people achieve optimal health.UnitedHealth Group IT Enterprise Shared Services group is responsible for managing and optimizing enterprise data, voice, and video services for UnitedHealth Group and its companies.  Focused on providing a world-class mix of cost, quality, and service delivery, this area is committed to building enterprise data storage team and driving continuous improvement in the standards for performance.  This area is also responsible for supporting IT across the enterprise for development frameworks, standard operating environments, quality improvements, and application operations.   Primary Responsibilities: A broad range of projects within UHG/IT Enterprise Storage Services Organization comprising of: Online storage systems and architectures Data protection systems and architectures Disaster Recovery technologies within the storage systems architecture Development of process and procedures in support of on going governance activities (Audit, SOX, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance) Completion of assigned projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Completion of complex or long-term projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Performs project evaluation and cost benefit analysis. Must be familiar with systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. Generally responsible for all work requirements on a major project(s). Assesses performance, rewards results, motivates, and fosters matrix management. Directs team to complete projects on time, within budget. Delegates, integrates activities & resolves conflicts. Manages overall work of 10 - 20 IS and business professionals in 3 - 5 work groups. Quality Assurance review and evaluation and documentation of team procedures. Qualifications: Relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Combination of 8 or more years experience in one or more aspects of information systems -development or business / IS areas. Advanced project management skills training. Experience in successfully managing a major project, which integrates multiple business areas or systems. Leadership ability. Strong business partner focus. Demonstrate leadership to team, peers. Identify priority to required changes / issues. Good oral & written skills. Solid organizational and interpersonal skills. Adaptability; self-starter; team player; quality minded; focused; committed; work independently. Mentoring and educating. Able to stay committed to long-term project goals. Able to direct project outcome based on long term business objectives. Having prior experience or exposure to online storage systems (Hitachi, Sun, EMC, Netapps) is a desirable qualification. Having managed governance related projects (SOX, HIPAA, Audits) would enhance this candidate recruiting position.
