IT Business Analysis Consultant - Golden Valley, MN

The result is better care and a reduction in overall health care costs. We're looking for a skilled IT Business Analysis Consultant with solid data mapping experience to join our team. In this role, you would be the liaison between the business and development teams as well as demonstrate an expert level of understanding regarding business processes as it relates to our data and reporting needs. Enjoy competitive benefits, growth potential and work variety. Primary Responsibilities: Gathering data-based business reporting requirements Working with the development team to ensure timely implementation of business requirements Providing end-user support for complex data reporting issues Assisting in the development of reports using BI tools in a data warehouse environment Identifying requirements for data to be corrected, cleansed and/or transformed Providing requirements to change source systems where problems have been identified Establishing a common set of data definitions Handling small enhancements Building an integrated mapping of attributes from multiple sources Identifying data relationships Collecting requirements from internal business partners Writing business requirement documents Working with ETL developers (DataStage) Working with Data Architects to create the data models Conducting requirement reviews Interfacing with QA staff to review test plans and cases Using SQL to conduct data profiling Working with Sybase IQ databases Working with the business units to coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and answer technical questionsQualifications: Data mapping experience Solid SQL and OLAP reporting tools exposure (i.e. Business Objects, Cognos, Hyperion Brio, etc.) Business analysis experience (specifically with data, gathering and documenting requests, etc.) Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling and ETL principals Proficiency in MS Office applications SQL skills and other relational database exposure Bachelor's degree in Information Systems  Excellent communication skillsPreferred assets include: Experience working with healthcare data (claims, eligibility, provider, benefit, etc. - strong preferred) Knowledge of dimensional modeling  Database experience (preferably Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ).
