This function uses and creates statistical and inferential analyses to provide specialized data analysis. Organizes, sorts and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends. Develops and maintains data preparation and validation routines to support data mining and has experience in creating complex data mining algorithms. Selects, recommends and applies appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques to execute against an analysis plan or research objectives. Primary Responsibilities: Evaluates new analytics tools and methodologies for possible deployment. Creates data warehouses/marts and/or develops data mining analyses to support business decisions. Reviews the work of others. Develops innovative approaches. Sought out as expert. Serves as a leader/ mentor.Qualifications:  Familiarity with some/all of the following: Prospective Payment Systems Facility Health Care Data Medicare Cost Reports DRG Grouping Systems APC Payment Methodologies Familiarity with some/all of the following tools: MS-SQL Access Excel SAS Visual Basic, C, .Net Programming Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them. Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues. Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions. Performs complex conceptual analyses. Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement. Forecasts and plans resource requirements. Authorizes deviations from standards. May lead functional or segment teams or projects. Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues.
