IT Support Specialist
Major responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Director, the IT Support Technician provides first line hardware, software and telephone support to IT customers at multiple locations in the north Worcester county area. Provide IT customers support and training in the use of existing and new technologies, including audio/visual presentations related equipment. Troubleshoot common computer, software, telecommunications and A/V problems working alone as well as with other IT staff members. Regularly travel to remote clinical sites to provide IT service and support. Maintains accurate and timely IT records including inventory of all hardware, software, supplies, warranties and RMA’s. Research, communicate, coordinate and implement new technologies, working with internal IT staff or outside contractors as necessary. Maintain inventory, replacement and rotation of network backup tapes. Assists in new technology deployment, field/triage/resolve/document help desk calls for all sites. Bring unusual conditions or situations to the attention of the Director. Provides backup support related to network hardware, software and system administration. Working knowledge of PC operating systems (Windows 2000/XP Pro) and desktop applications (MS Office 2000/2003/2007).
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree preferred. 2 – 4 years hands on helpdesk/computer support experience required. A+ certification and Microsoft product certifications preferred. Some experience facilitating training preferred. Ability to follow written and oral directions with minimal supervision. A desire to learn new technologies and willing to apply problem solving and troubleshooting methodologies. Able to interact daily with customers at varying technical competency levels. Ability to travel to remote locations as needed during normal business hours.
