IMPLEMENTATION CONSULTANT - CONTRACTING AND PROCUREMENT

Location: Chesapeake, VA - VIRGINIA

Analyze contracting/purchasing data to find opportunities for cost savings, standardization and providing analytics support for VHA supply chain initiatives. Focus will be to support contracting and contract analysis, savings tracking and performance measurement. Additionally will work on other materials management and procurement projects.

Responsibilities: Will determine current Novation contract penetration and recommend potential areas for cost reduction. Analyze current product usage against Novation contracts and local contracts. Provide onsite and offsite support of HCO and project manager. Support Bid and/or RFP analysis for HCO through the member-based project manager. Conduct line-item pricing comparisons and studies for HCO. Identify cost reduction opportunities and track cost savings for HCO. Conduct pricing analysis against competitive intelligence. Perform as liaison for HCO Member and project manager with Novation/VHA contracting analyst and product line management. Research HCO purchases at contract level. Provide Contract Conversion analysis for project manager and HCO. Perform GAP analysis as requested by HCO and project manager. Assist with provision of quarterly business reviews for HCO member and VHA management. Specify standardization opportunities. Assist with materials management/purchasing processes, as requested by the hospitals. For example, benchmarking studies, contracting systems, database cleanup, help put out bids, ordering Novation samples and contracts, educating on whether or not a product is on contract, etc… Assist the Novation and VHA Account Managers on projects, as requested. Consolidate item master files into one database, if needed. Specify system-wide product pricing (price leveling). Compile project reports and present findings to hospital personnel. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.



Requirements
A Bachelor Degree is preferred Medical/Surgical/Healthcare product industry knowledge required VHA/Novation contract knowledge desired 5-7 years previous experience in a healthcare purchasing and/or material management Must possess/demonstrate excellent analytical, communications (both written and verbal), and process improvement skills Significant knowledge of and ability to utilize the Internet, Excel and Access Data analysis and assessment: including both qualitative and quantitative data. Ability to work with variety of software and analytical and research tools, to develop statistical modeling as needed for assignment. Significant knowledge of and ability to utilize the Internet, Excel and Access Healthcare consulting a plus
