We are a large tertiary care Harvard teaching hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts. Applicants should be a nurse or other health care professional (MPH or Medical Microbiology Technologist) with a strong working knowledge of acute care hospital infection control. The candidate should be knowledgeable about guidelines, regulations, and accreditation standards of federal state and local agencies (CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, DPH). Responsibilities include surveillance of hospital infections, developing and maintaining infection control policies and procedures, and planning and coordination of programs for the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections. Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use electronic information systems for analysis and data management are essential.
