Information Systems Specialist
Position: Information Systems Specialist
(Status: Exempt)

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
SUMMARY: The Information Systems (IS) Specialist provides assistance RE: computer systems, IPHCA’s internet web site, and related technology for the efficient operations of IPHCA data systems and their use by staff.
The IS Specialist will be assigned tasks involving computer-related problems, desktop support for users, server initiatives, cellular phone and PDA support, backup functions, networking, internet and web site issues, and other system-wide computer administration functions.
The IS Specialist will be required to fulfill these tasks in a manner consistent with the strategic IS vision of IPHCA, using techniques and methods approved by the Director of Information Systems.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
In support of daily operations:
· Public web site content updates
· Technical information systems and desktop support for users
· Daily monitoring of system messages and network operations
· Network printers, PDAs/data phones, scanners, and peripherals
· Orientation and training of staff on IT/IS-related subjects
In support of IPHCA’s IT infrastructure:
· First contact for computer-related questions
· Small Business Server support
· Spam Filter support
· Internet Hosting support
· Network, cabling, and switch support
· SharePoint environment systems and development support

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Associates Degree in technology field preferred; other evidence of substantial computer knowledge desirable
· Minimum 3 years’ experience with varied and progressive desktop support
· Network system administration skills
· MSCE Certification or equivalent preferred
· Experience should include substantial exposure to in-house, shared, or outsourced systems; multiple hardware platforms; and integrated information and communications systems
· Specific experience with practice management or health care management, financial management, and clinical management information systems is desirable
SPECIAL LICENSES OR TRANSPORTATION DEMANDS
· Valid Indiana driver’s license, and proof of insurance
· Access to dependable transportation
