Installations Field Rep
Primary function: With direct supervision provide basic product servicing to customers using varian medical systems products. Machines & equipment used: Familiar with and skilled in the basic use of related computer, electronic, and mechanical testing equipment used for verification, checkout, and calibration of oncology systems products. Duties: 1. Installs and services product equipment with technical support and direct supervision. 2. Successfully complete basic product training (both classroom and ojt). 3. Applies customer management skills, technical expertise, and available resources to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations. 4. Maintains detailed electronic records of service visits, including the technical problems encountered and parts employed to correct the problem. 5. In a timely manner processess all required field service documentation and electronic reports. 6. Gathers information as required to aid in solving technical problems encountered on service visits. 7. Reports safety problems, incidents, and customer complaints to the appropriate manager or department. 8. Performs spare parts ordering for assigned customers, including replenishing spare parts kits as necessary for warranty and contract customers. 9. Maintains a safe and organized work area, observes all safety policies and procedures. 10. In accordance with established company policy, uses the proper escalation procedures, updates status, and follows through to completion of the escalated task. 11. Performs other related duties as assigned. Two or four year degree in electronic engineering technology or biomedical electronics, with emphasis on RF devices, or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience. In-depth understanding of RF and digital electronic device troubleshooting techniques, along with the proper use of associated test equipment. Proficient at diagnosing and resolving simple mechanical problems, including the proper use of hand tools. And/or basic computer usage and debugging skills. Fundamental knowledge of networks and networking techniques. And//or basic understanding of imaging systems. Specific training requirements: Classroom (on-site, off-site) and OJT essential techniques in customer relations multitasking and time management radiation safety clinical orientation documentation and record keeping basic clinac service, including checkout, calibration, alignment, and pm basic MLC service and//or basic PV service and imaging techniques basic simulators and imaging and//or computing in a Varian environment networking in a Varian environment Varis basics TPS basics.
