Instructional/Curriculum Designer The instructional/curriculum designer utilizes instructional design/evaluation and instructional-technology expertise to create and implement efficient and effective learning and performance solutions, intervention tools, and evaluation tool (e.g., training programs, e-learning systems, work-flow processes, job aids, etc.) based on standard industry protocol. The designer will identify appropriate solutions and effective designs that demonstrate high standards of quality instruction, cost-consciousness, and best practices within adult learning. The designer will blend a variety of learning platforms, including instructor-led and online, to produce optimum results for staff training and development. A bachelor’s degree in instructional design, training and development, curriculum and instruction, adult education, or closely related field and three years of training design experience are required. Solid knowledge of instructional design principles, instructional technologies, performance-based learning, and adult learning principles is required as is technical and practical knowledge of evaluation theory, such as the Kirkpatrick model. Strong knowledge of MS Office applications and ability to learn new technology rapidly is required. Course authoring and desktop publishing software experience is also required. Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of audiences; effective project management skills, including ability to exercise appropriate judgment regarding risk management on projects; and ability to create clear, compelling and crisp reports which demonstrate the results and effectiveness of the training and development program are essential. Possession of a certificate in evaluation/ROI instructional design and development is preferred.
