Integration/Interface Architect
Designs, develops, and implements complex integration/interface solutions, while providing ongoing support of existing software and systems. Provides technical leadership for enterprise integration activities and problem resolution. Assists Information Systems (I/S) Management with information technology integration strategy and planning. Provides lead technical resource services to Applications staff and other I/S groups, and functional lead oversight to Application staff through delegation of work and coordination of daily problems and customer concerns.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Develops and manages the delivery of large-scale integration solutions, including projects such as implementation of corporate interfacing standards, or oversight for enterprise integration software conversions and upgrades. 2. Performs technical requirement analyses and functional system design. Evaluates and determines resource requirements, including technical infrastructure (e.g., staffing, hardware, networking, software, etc.). Prepares cost analysis, develops and maintains project budgets. Formulates technical design documents, project timelines, and implementation schedules. 3. Assists Application Services Management with the technical oversight and delivery of required application software and systems. Provides the needed technical leadership and guidance to deliver a supportable and scaleable application infrastructure. 4. Establishes, implements, and enforces design, analysis, programming, documentation and style standards. 5. Develops and makes presentations to management on various technology-related topics (i.e., emerging technologies, new industry standards, integration strategies, etc.). Conducts meetings with department managers, project staff, and product vendors required to satisfy integration goals. Facilitates application and system integration planning with hospital departments, I/S Management. 6. Monitors system performance, system utilization, and tunes system configurations as necessary. Maintains relationships and coordinates activities of various vendor representatives and technical field engineers. Evaluates computer software/hardware products and recommends appropriate purchases and expansions/upgrades. 7. Assists with staff orientation and development needs. Mentors and supports staff with programming, integration duties and responsibilities. 8. Coordinates project assignments and provides input to management regarding staff performance, including consultants, contractors and product vendors. Oversees the daily operation of the interface engine and provides staff with programming support and administrative guidance. 9. Utilizes system project and problem database to document workload, and ensures the provision of support on a seven-day, twenty-four-hour basis.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: Knowledge of Mathematics and Computer Science as would normally be acquired through completion of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline along with formal programming experience.PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Approximately 5 to 6 years of progressively more responsible job related experience in the Healthcare Information Technology field, designing and developing software integration solutions with a thorough understanding of network protocols and data communications.
