International Adoption Social Worker

This part-time position is responsible for a portion of the day-to-day operations of the International Adoption program.  This person would be responsible for adoption services including information meetings, family assessments, education classes, post-placement supervisions and services, administrative duties and public relations activities as assigned.

Qualifications:  MSW or related degree in human services related field preferred, BSW or BA with adoption experience.  Experience in child and family services preferred.  Excellent assessment and clinical skills.  Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.  A caring responsive and flexible person committed to adoption.

Responsibilities:
Assist families in determining whether international adoption is an appropriate fit.Provide full assessments of families.Assist and advocate for families during the dossier and immigration preparation process.Assist international adoption staff with the International Meetings, preparation classes and support group events for adoptive families, which can occur after normal business hours and throughout the Greater Delaware Valley.Provide post-placement supervisions, consultation and assistance to families when necessary.Contribute to the program's overall user-friendliness, efficiency and case effectiveness standards.  Assist in making programmatic changes in conjunction with immediate supervisor.Assist in promoting and developing the International Adoption Program throughout the Greater Delaware Valley.
