Iterative Reconstruction Tomography Post-Doctorate

 

The Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA) is looking for a highly qualified post-doctoral fellow – and in exceptional cases instructors – to join our research program in tomographic image reconstructions.  Specifically, we are looking for individuals with:


· A physical science, computer science, electrical engineering, or biomedical engineering PhD

· In-depth knowledge of reconstruction algorithms, especially in the context of statistical and iterative reconstructions for PET and/or CT. 

· Practical, hands-on, implementational knowledge of reconstruction algorithms.


The applicant must be highly-motivated, must have strong communication skills, and must be able to undertake independent investigations while working as a member of an interdisciplinary team of clinical and scientific investigators.  Strong communication skills are required.


Our group consists of MDs and PhDs, with a strong emphasis on computations which can deliver high quality clinical images within reasonable processing times.  We have substantial computational resources, including a Beowulf cluster, nVidia GPU-based system, and a Cell-based system, all working within a Matlab and C/C++ environment.
