Our client a medical facility in the Shrewsbury area with a tradition of excellence and affiliation with leading medical schools and Massachusetts teaching hospitals has asked that we search for a LABORATORY LEAD MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST.

 

The Laboratory Lead Medical Technologist will work under the general direction of the Lab Manager, and be responsible for the development, supervision of the technical and support functions of the blood bank, coagulation, serology, and urinalysis departments of the laboratory. Duties include overseeing day to day operations, developing and reviewing policies and procedures; training staff and evaluating competency; and ensuring regulatory compliance.  The following procedures are performed in the Laboratory section, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Diagnostic Immunology, Hematology or Toxicology. This individual will follow all safety precautions, QC/QA principals and participate in scheduled training programs.

Requirements:

BS MT (ASCP) or equivalent. 

Minimum 5 years experience.

Must be knowledgeable regarding QC/QA principles and concepts.

Blood Bank experience.

Medical Technologist Certification: MT (ASCP).

Chemistry experience preferred American Society of Clinical Pathologists.

SSB (ASCP) - Specialist in Blood Banking preferred.
