POSITION SUMMARY:  Supervise health services associates and provide personal care services, medication management, and medication assistance.

 

Essential job duties include the following:

·         Performs and/or supervises the accurate delivery of medications to residents; including ensuring proper storage, distribution, re-ordering and discontinuation of medication(s).

·         Monitors and properly documents status of residents who self medicate, maintaining a daily communication log.

·         Interacts with the resident’s physician, pharmacist and medical personnel as needed.

·         Performs/assists in the process of ordering and refilling medications and supplies.

·         Follows the guidelines as outlined in the Resident Care Plan; assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility.

·         Provides one-on-one support/visitation to assigned residents.

·         Responds to resident emergencies; provide first-aid assistance and arrange for appropriate medical attention and follow-up.

·         Maintains efficient and appropriate communication with residents, family members, guests and associates.

·         Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                           

Manages Resident Assistant associates.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the property and relevant business development initiatives. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BVSL policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include scheduling, training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND TALENTS

·         AA Degree or Certificate from an accredited school of nursing.

·         Current and active state appropriate LPN or RN license.

·         Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

·         Strong customer orientation to older adults.

·         Ability to effectively communicate in English.

·         Positive attitude, enthusiasm and energy.

 

 

The associate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.  The associate is expected to adhere to all company policies and support the mission of the organization.
