Immediate opportunity for experienced LVN NURSING SUPERVISOR at our Fountain Valley medical center location! 

 

As LVN NURSING SUPERVISOR, responsible for the following areas:

Reviews patient medical records prior to visit to ensure chart readiness for physician, interview patients, measures vital signs, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients’ charts.  Schedule patients for routine diagnostic tests & appointments.

 

Function as Triage Nurse (not applicable to LVN Nursing Supervisors.)  Responds to emergencies and provides appropriate patient care, including referrals to Case Management. Prepares treatment room for examination of patients; assists physician with procedures, cleans examination room and sterilizes appropriate equipment after use.  Administer treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests under supervision of Physician, Allied Health Professional, RN.  Administers prescribed medication orally or by injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal).  Perform electrocardiograph (EKG), pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments and operates other equipment. Manage the Inventory and ordering of medical supplies and materials. Initiate intravenous lines and adds  IV fluids and medications to existing lines and discontinues lines under direction of physician or Allied Health Professional. Provide functional/technical assistance to MA’s, LVN’s and RN’s. Demonstrate competency in insertion of catheter, port-a-catch flushing, injection of Zoladex, etc. (Not applicable to LVN Nursing Supervisors.)  Orients, trains, coaches, and coordinates in service education to staff. Communicates effectively with patients and conveys urgent and relevant information to other members of the health care team.

 

Assumes “in charge” responsibilities for team nursing activities as delegated. Disseminate verbal and/or written meeting communication to staff and assist in conducting monthly staff meetings. Promotes communication with and among nurses and physicians, staff from other departments, contracted services, and patients. Ensures that staff attends all training, provides timely coaching/recognition to employees regarding their performance and documents all instances of coaching/recognition completely, accurately and in a timely manner.

 

Qualified nursing candidates will have:  current CA LVN license, basic cardiac life support (BCLS/CPR), and IV certified.  Minimum two years nursing experience plus demonstrated leadership/nursing experience in managed care setting preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents, excellent communication skills, ability to speak in front of groups of customers or employees.  Computer proficient, good math skills.  Experience with electronic medical records a plus!  Bilingual/Spanish strongly preferred.
