Laboratory Assistant - Full Time Evening Shift

Job Summary As a Lab Assistant, you will perform clerical duties and semi-technical procedures such as phlebotomy and specimen preparation in the laboratory. You'll obtain and process specimens from inpatients, outpatients and outreach accounts according to the time guidelines established by the department. This may include driving to outpatient account locations to obtain the specimen. The processing will include logging tests in the computer, labeling, centrifuging, and delivering specimens. You will perform phlebotomy. You may be required to drive a hospital-owned vehicle as a function of job. If required, you will complete all NWHMC driver paperwork and clearance procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Washington State Health Care Assistant certification will be required upon hire A valid Washington State driver's license with an excellent driving record Experience or training as a phlebotomist in a clinical laboratory or medical setting The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong computer skills The ability to organize and prioritize work demands and handle multiple tasks Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology Benefits include: Medical/Dental/Vision options, Group Legal services, 401(K) plans with a generous employer match, Tuition Reimbursement programs and Vacation packages.
