Language & Cultural Representative, Per Diem

To provide interpreting services in a culturally sensitive manner to facilitate communication at CHLA; and to translate all hospital related correspondence, information and documentation. Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English and the designated foreign language. Ability to translate and interpret medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, families, and hospital staff. Working knowledge of PC skills including word processing. May be required to interpret for patients representing the full range of developmental and educational levels. Requires experience interpreting and translating in a healthcare setting, including experience working with the community and/or a target language population. Bachelor degree preferred. Interpreter Certification preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish required.
