Job Purpose:

Serves residents by providing for the physical and psycho/social well-being of all Autumn Winds residents. This LVN charge nurse is responsible for assigning and supervising all nursing care of residents.


Duties:

* Assist the Director of Nurses in maintaining nursing service objectives, standards, and use of nursing protocols.
* Ensure the Nursing Dept personnel are performing thier duties in a competent and timely manner.
* Monitor residents to ensure their physical and mental health. Be able to make decisions about when condition changes require physical contact.
* Document clinical records to assure and record proper resident care.

* Obtain and administer medications as prescribed by physician.


* Supervise Nursing assistants and assign daily work. Monitor daily work assignments.


* Assist medication aides as required.
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
* Administer treatments as ordered by physician.
