Line Mechanic

Prepares and maintains equipment which packages products. Sets up packaging line equipment in order to package products according to established specifications and ensure consistency. Assists with and documents the packaging line cleaning process, and assists with the training and orientation of coworkers. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on packaging line equipment using shop equipment, and notifies management of equipment problems and/or needed replacement parts. Monitors line setup and operation for correctness and complete all required documentation. Ensures maximum line productivity and minimizes down-time by keeping bulk hoppers filled, troubleshooting equipment problems, and making adjustments as necessary, and maintains component availability. Maintains a safe and debris-free work environment by maintaining a knowledge of, and following company safety rules, SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA mandates, as required, reporting unsafe acts, facility and/or equipment damage to management, and participating in safety programs and training.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school preferred. Minimum three years of setup and operation of high-volume manufacturing equipment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, medical device, or food processing industries.Good mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repair capabilities. Team player with a good attitude. Ability to work under pressure to increase production and reduce equipment downtime. Good verbal and written communication skills required to write maintenance work orders, write production documentation information, communicate technical equipment information and follow SOPs, Must be able to communicate in English. Electrical and PLC skills a plus.
