MANAGER OF PHARMACY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Reporting to our Executive Pharmacy Director, you will play a central role in Pharmacy Management for a managed care business segment with over $2.5 billion in annual spending. You will be accountable for providing leadership support to business units, while striving to achieve new profitability, growth and added customer value in pharmacy services.Specifically, you will: serve as a clinical/subject matter expert on pharmacy benefit management coordinate the work product of team members evaluate proposals and make recommendations for vendor contracting oversee technical initiatives (e.g. e-prescribing, e-technology, and web based tools for members/providers) develop communications and education plans manage relations with large Pharma manufacturers, government, and BCBSA partners execute enterprise-wide initiatives including consumer engagements and integrated pharmacy and medical management programs participate in long-range projects, like our generic dispense rate initiativeThe candidate we seek is a strong leader and change agent, who possesses a BS in pharmacy and an MBA (or related advanced education). He/she should also have five-plus years’ experience in a health/pharmaceutical environment that included three in supervisory, as well as proven analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, decision-making and communication/writing skills. Deep knowledge of industry partnerships, member/provider education, pharmacy benefits management, program development and communications/publicity essential.
