Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long-term care setting. • Prior experience as an MDS coordinator with demonstrated expertise. • Demonstrates clinical assessment skills at the level necessary to meet the job requirements. • Ability to make independent decisions on a regular basis. • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary care team. • Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use. • Proven written and oral communication skills. • Proven decision-making and analytical skills. • Able to relate positively, favorably and cooperatively with others, including, associates, residents, family members, and personnel of outside agencies and organizations. • Must be able to travel, including overnight stays. • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry. • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
