MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST- BLOOD BANK EVENING SHIFTS Weekdays and Weekends Rotating shifts PRIMARY FUNCTION: Has the appropriate educational background to perform laboratory procedures according to established and approved protocols, which require the broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision; maintains equipment and records; performs and monitors quality assurance activities related to test performance. Upholds all laboratory safety and infection control regulations; supports the goals of the department and Mercy Philosophy of THE HOSPITAL. Has the authority to provide to provide efficient department workflow through providing daily scheduling and bench adjustment accordingly. Works closely with the department supervisor to provide employees schedules as well as training for new employees. Education, Training and Experience: Qualified to perform high complexity testing as defined by Final CLAI Rule or 42 CRF 493.1433 laboratory regulations. Other Requirements: Ability to maintain composure in stressful situation. Must have good customer service skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Previous Clinical Lab experience preferred.
