Maintenance Mechanic Senior
Primary function: To perform the more difficult and complex mechanical maintenance and repair of buildings, building equipment and production equipment in several areas of skill. Works independently using any required tools and equipment following general to limited instructions. Machines & equipment used: All required maintenance hand, power, and machine tools. Duties: 1. Performs a variety of the more difficult and complex maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems such as machine tools and related equipment, automotive and material handling equipment, electrical systems, air conditioning and heating ventilation equipment. 2. Operates, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide variety of utility equipment including air compressors, boilers, various types water systems, ventilation blowers, etc. 3. Determines if equipment malfunctions are mechanical or electrical and assist in the repair of electrical systems. 4. Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of furnaces, roofs, plumbing installation, cranes and lifting devices, and office duplicating machines. 5. Works from blueprints, drawings, schematics, and written and verbal instructions to plan and layout assignments. 6. Employs metal working skills including sheetmetal fabrication and welding. 7. Maintains and repairs gas supply and distribution systems. 8. May assist in training less skilled maintenance mechanics. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned. Note: The duties listed above reflect general responsibilities necessary for the performance of the job and may not include all of the specific job activities.QualificationsPosition requirements: Specific training, skills and experience needed to perform the job typically requires four (4) years of mechanic apprenticeship or trade school training as a maintenance and repair mechanic and four (4) years maintenance mechanic experience or equivelant combination of training and experience. Must have Universal CFC EPA Certification.Must have the ability to plan job assignments, use practical mathematics, read and interpret prints.
