Mammographer

Diagnostic Health Corporation, a multi-modality facilities offering a combination of outpatient diagnostic imaging services, including MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine services currently has a Mammographer position open at it’s Arlington, TX diagnostic center.

 

 Position Purpose: to produce imaging using mammography technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis, while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.  QC/ QA/ MQSA knowledge is a must.

 

Responsibilities

1. Ensures operational excellence and quality of care in the facility

· Demonstrates use of proper positioning to produce quality mammography studies

· Maintains quality of mammography services in an efficient and effective manner

· Utilizes mammography equipment and protocols to produce mammography studies and

· clinically diagnostic information to assist interpretive physician

 

2. Demonstrates knowledge of all equipment to provide a safe environment for patients and staff

· Utilizes information and skills necessary to perform assigned maintenance

· responsibilities

· Demonstrates startup procedures, calibration of equipment, and troubleshooting

· Demonstrates knowledge of using mammography equipment, hardcopy devices, film

· processing equipment, written and/or other recorded formats

 

3. Demonstrates knowledge of mammography safety to provide a safe environment for patients and staff

· Utilizes knowledge of mammography safety

· Performs proper Mammography safely to include providing protection and inquiring if

· females of child bearing  age are pregnant

· Semi annual inspection of Mammography equipment

· Conducts exams in a safe and efficient manner

 

4. Demonstrates continued competence in caring for individuals based upon age-specific need utilizing developmental

  perspective 

· Demonstrates an understanding of each age groups, cognitive, physical, motor/sensory

adaptation and specific intervention

· Appropriately modifies approach to patients based upon patient age utilizing a

developmental perspective

· Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues

· Asses for FDA approval for age groups and specific dosing of contrast media

· Considers cognitive states in patient education

 

5. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and documentation of competence of designated mammography exam

· Demonstrates knowledge and documented competency in operation of mammography

equipment; utilizes aseptic technique, universal precautions, documentation skills, etc.

 

6. Participates in performance improvement activities

 

7. Collects appropriate clinical history and correlates findings with procedure being performed

 

Position Requirements

State licensure.  Current TDH, ARRT, mammogram. 



 

Education



Graduated from an accredited  school of  radiological technology program.  One (1) year of mammography experience preferred.
