Manager, Accounting Policy and Research

We are currently seeking a Manager, Accounting Policy & Research for our Accounting Department.  This position is located in Evanston, convenient to METRA & CTA transportation.

JOB OVERVIEW/RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will assist the Controller with investigation of current GAAP and other regulatory requirements as to the impact on ENH accounting systems and financial reporting. Specific responsibilities include:

 

*Review current publications for accounting regulations changes within ENH lines of business, such as FASB proposals, changes in GAAP, IRS requirements, etc.

*Implement changes as needed to Lawson general ledger to allow appropriate detail compilation of data

*Assist in interface design and updates for systems that feed data into Accounting, as well as assist in design of data collection

*Recommend Accounting policies as required to improve ENH internal controls

*Represent Accounting on Process Improvement Teams

*Assist Controller on Special Projects as needed, such as data collection, investigations, communication of process changes, etc.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

*3-5 years experience in general accounting in a complex corporate setting;

*Proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of database software and report writer

*Experience with healthcare or other not-for-profit experience is desirable

*Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA preferred

*CPA required
