General Summary:
Coventry Health Care, a leader in managed health care, is seeking a Manager, Learning and Development to join our dynamic team. As Manager, Learning and Development you will oversee company-wide staff development training (soft skills) for approximately 15,000+ employees across the US. You will manage Customer Service Skills training program, including partnering with the operational business managers to identify performance and training needs, overseeing the design and development of training programs to address needs, and the facilitation of programs at company sites. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the internal Trainer Development Program to provide skill and knowledge development for the company’s training staff . In addition, you will be in charge of team training professionals. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to partner with operational business managers to identify staff development needs and recommend and/or implement effective training or non-training solutions.

Job Requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s preferred. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or other training-related certification/certificate program. Preferred7+ years of training and development experience in a corporate setting. Experience in designing and delivering training programs, for supervisory, middle management and senior management levels. Experience managing, coaching or mentoring trainers. Extensive knowledge of adult learning theory, Instructional Systems Design and other training methodology/concepts. Experience with Human Performance Improvement is desired. Strong facilitation and internal consulting skills. Outstanding verbal and written skills. Able to work with all levels of an organization from front line staff to senior management. Travel up to 30-50% (with peak periods) throughout the US.
