Manager, Patient Financial Services
Our client, a growing, dynamic, large health system, is seeking a dynamic, organized leader for their open position: Manager, Patient Financial Services. This is a growth hire and the health system is seeking to add solid experienced people to its patient financial services team. This new position will allow the person who fills it to expand the role and further define it as time goes on.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
maintain an efficient operation that obtains/verifies third party coverage and utilizes alternative means for obtaining coverage to non-insured patients
Development of policies and procedures
Front end insurance verification requiring maintaining confidential information
Coordinate with multiple diverse areas within the health system in verifying patient needs
Work with numerous medical system applications to coordinate patient insurance information
Mentor and train staff
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
5-7 years financial counseling and related hospital billing experience including supervisory experience
Extensive knowledge of third party reimbursement techniques required
Strong knowledge of inpatient and outpatient insurance verification processes
Must have worked with several different medical system process
Knowledge of PA Medical Assistance Eligibility regulations and processes preferred
Experience in both front end and back end best candidate (admissions, insurance verification, counseling and credit/collections)
Personality Traits:
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals, including outside vendors
Must be able to handle issues of a sensitive and confidential nature with patients and families
Outgoing, dynamic with strong leadership skills, ’roll up your sleeves’ type of person
Organized and able to juggle lots of things at once, flexibility
Team mentality, likes to train and mentor staff, enjoy department working closely as a team
Good communication skills and able to clearly articulate to senior staff in other departments
