Services offered by the company include pharmacy network contracting, rebate contracting and administration, mail order pharmacy facilities, specialty drugs and retail drug claims processing.  The company is one of only three in the United States to have received URAC dual accreditation and provides clinical services to help its clients provide cost effective, quality-driven results.  The company is part of Pharmacy Services group, within Enterprise Services, a family of UnitedHealth Group businesses dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Americans.   This position will support Prescription Solution's efforts by managing research initiatives required to identify new market and product opportunities.The candidate will lead primary and secondary research and intelligence initiatives to determine and communicate the implications for Prescription Solutions by analyzing key areas such as industry trends, market size, competitor capabilities, and customer buying criteria, purchase process, price sensitivity, channel requirements, and technology.  The position will work closely with internal clients to ensure an appropriate research methodology is developed and executed to deliver actionable results. The position will also provide research support for partnerships and alliances. Primary Responsibilities: The position will actively consult with internal clients to ensure that research initiatives and activities are aligned with broader market and product development objectives.  The candidate will be largely responsible for operating independently and overseeing the research and intelligence team. The candidate will collect and transform (internal and external) data into information that is understandable, accurate, timely, relevant and reliable.  Activities will include:  Secondary business research using on-line and other reference tools Primary methodologies such as executive interviewing Design of focus group and customer surveys Analysis of data using standard statistical tools Track and interact with industry thought leaders Attend industry conferences Contribute to a weekly industry newsletter Develop and present formal research reports Manage research suppliers Manage research projects Continuously update a market knowledge databaseQualifications: Strategic agility - broad knowledge and perspective, can accurately anticipate future consequences and trends. Business acumen - knows the PBM industry and how it works. Customer focus - establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. Strong consulting skills - based on strong relationships, can anticipate research needs and make recommendations. Executive interviewing skills - comfortable with cold calling to conduct interviews. Outcome oriented - makes sure that research drives decisions. Analytical thinker - can interpret research and draw meaningful conclusions that benefit constituents. Capable of managing a variety of complex issues while driving momentum of key projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expert in defining internal client requirements and using appropriate research methodologies to deliver information that drives results. Can deal with ambiguity - can effectively cope with change, can comfortable handle risk and uncertainty. People skills - to work with other team members and internal clients. Strong knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies. Undergraduate degree in Marketing or related field. Master’s degree in Marketing, Business or Healthcare desirable.
