Manager, Social Services

 

The Social Services Manager is responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of Social Worker services to cancer patients and their families at the Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be relied on to provide direct clinical social work services, such as individual and group counseling, to patients and families, and facilitate the mobilization of community resources to support optimal functioning. Key functions will also include providing administrative supervision and consultation to other Social Workers and the Cancer Center staff. Specific duties include maintaining computer tracking databases for statistical analysis and reporting; conducting administrative activities to include staff meetings, case conferences, clinical care planning meetings and interdepartmental operations/coordination meetings to support overall Cancer Center patient care activities; and participating in community networking to increase knowledge and availability of services to patients and their families. Involves performing documentation in medical record of psychosocial assessment and intervention, in addition to coordinating special events and fundraising activities to support department programs.

 

We are in search of a candidate possessing a Master’s-level degree in Social Work and 3+ years of social work experience in a healthcare setting. Must be a candidate for or holder of a Social Work license in good standing. Supervisory experience is desired.
