This position will be responsible for the decontamination, processing and sterilization of instruments used in the medical center; provide leadership and acts as a resource to staff and supervisors in daily operations to ensure operation and customer needs are met; ensure that department follows all local, state, national and manufacturer regulations and best practice recommendations; and performs all aspects of human resource management including recruitment and retention, ensuring competency of staff and providing disciplinary counseling.  This position requires a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent and 5 years of Central Service Processing or Inventory/Supply Management experience to include supervisory or management role, preferably in a hospital or medical center. Demonstrated customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communications skills are essential. Additionally, this position requires effective problem solving and training skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word applications. May require extensive knowledge of computer inventory management system, or Central Services Technician Certification depending on area of concentration. Preferred requirements are Surgical Technician and/or surgical supply experience; and Matkon, SSI experience.
