Manager, Sterile Processing Center

Responsible for planning and controlling the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Center material, resources and personnel to support quality service delivery to customers (surgeons, operating room staff, and community).

Job Responsibilities

· Plans, organizes, and controls Sterile Processing Center functions to support quality service delivery to customers (medical staff, hospital, community)

· Participates in marketing of processing services.  Maintains active communication among customers

· Prioritizes and coordinates the operations associated with processing within the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Center.

· Evaluates the effectiveness of service provided to customers.  When problems are identified with the effectiveness of service, takes appropriate action to correct

· Performs personnel functions of interviewing, counseling, disciplining, hiring, promotion, compensation, and termination.

· Assists in the organization and control of the systematic maintenance of materials resources to support Preoperative Division functions

· Prepares capital budget requests for service specific area

 

RequirementsBachelors of Science Degree in Nursing or Health Sciences recommended not required.  Certification by American Society for Hospital Central Service Personnel or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management necessary.5-10 years experience in sterilization technologies, OR operations and material management.  Prior supervisory experience. Excellent Verbal Written and People skills The demonstrated ability to communicate well both written and verbally with various all levels of staff is required.  Qualified candidate will have the ability to build, foster, and maintain positive working relationships.
