Manager of Quality Improvement

Specializing in geropsychology and geropsychiatry for fifteen years, Vericare is the nationwide leader in providing quality mental health care for residents of skilled nursing facilities. We offer facilities a dynamic service that includes psychiatric care and psychotherapy treatment. Vericare contracts with over 1,100 facilities in seven states and our specialists have treated over 100,000 patients. Our specialists include psychiatrists, psychiatric advanced practice nurses, psychologists and licensed clinical social workers.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. V.P., Chief Clinical Officer, the Director of Quality Management will oversee clinical documentation practices and provide regional mentoring for field management. Exciting opportunity for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with geriatric treatment and Medicare quality review experience to spearhead and manage the quality management/quality assurance program for up to 300 field practitioners. San Diego office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the quality review process for psychological services being provided to residents of skilled nursing facilities. 

· Mentor regional management in quality review process for two distinct service offerings: psychotherapy services and behavioral

medicine services.

• Perform quality audits of clinical documentation for clinical content clarity and for compliance with medical necessity and justification for continued services based on progress indicators.
• Participate in the development and implementation of local peer review processes.
• Act as a clinical resource to the company in researching the impact of licensing, regulation, or governmental quality initiatives on clinical practices and policies.

 



Education/Experience
• Masters degree in Social Work and current state licensure. 
• Geriatric treatment experience, preferably in skilled nursing home environments; skill in clinical management of patients.
• Medicare quality review experience.
• Experience and skill in the clinical management of staff.

• Exceptional mentoring skills.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Affinity for the quality review/quality management approach.

 

Traveling: Regular nationwide traveling required providing education and mentoring to regional management in the following

states: CA, DE, FL, IN, NJ, PA & TX.
