Market Manager

This field management position has direct management responsibility for network development, network management and local office management within a local market. It has dotted line matrix management responsibility for all other functional staff located within a local market including sales, utilization management, disease management and transportation. This position must interface effectively with regional and corporate staff to achieve market goals and objectives. It actively participates in setting local market strategy, develops and implements local market action plans, helps create budgets and forecasts and reports on market progress. This position remains visible in the community, represents the company through participation in public and community relations activities and keeps the company updated on local trends. Required Skills:Considerable understanding of medical care delivery and local market dynamics. Knowledge of provider contracting and network management is highly desirable. Solid management and supervisory skills (i.e. employee selection, training, coaching and development as well as process management). Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to interface effectively both internally and externally with a wide range of people including physicians, office staff, hospital executives and other health plan staff. Excellent problem solving skills with effective follow through. Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Experience:At least 3 years of professional provider relations experience involving physicians and administrative staff. Provider contract negotiations and network management experience is highly desirable. Management and supervisory experience is desirable. Education:College degree, preferably in business or healthcare administration.
