Market Research & Plan Development Manager

MARKET RESEARCH & PLAN DEVELOPMENT MANAGER


The Market Research and Plan Development Manager (MRPDM) is responsible for providing market research, market analysis and business plan development to support the direct network contracting effort, ongoing leased network operations and medical cost containment initiatives.  The MRPDM works collaboratively with Network Development and the Agency to identify market opportunities and once selected, creates business plans to support the strategic effort.

 

Key Responsibilities:



Ø  Through analysis of sales trends, rating adjustments and medical cost and utilization trends, identifies markets, services and providers presenting opportunities for medical cost management intervention.



Ø  Researches geographic markets under consideration for direct contracting including competitors, providers, business and regulatory climates, etc.



Ø  In conjunction with key business unit leaders, develops the business plans to support direct contracting in targeted markets.



Ø  Prepares contracting manuals and guidelines in support of direct network contracting build-out.

Ø  Prepares quarterly performance reports for direct contracted providers to include sales growth, operation metrics, etc.



Ø  Prepares annual leased network report cards to demonstrate access achievements, trend management and operational interface precision.



Ø  Develops and maintains standard departmental reports for the measurement and monitoring of leased and direct network performance.

 

 

Qualifications:



v Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Health Administration, Mathematics or related field.



v Advanced Certification, Master's Degree and/or Actuarial Associateship status a plus.



v Five years minimum managed care background.



v Three years minimum in business planning experience.



v Three years minimum experience with quantitative and qualitative research techniques including focus groups, conjoint analysis, environmental studies, geographic and demographic evaluations.



v Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare to include insurance products and ratings, provider networks, medical utilization benchmarks, competitors, sales activity and financial metrics.



v Demonstrated skills in time management and team based efforts and consulting.



v Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite and data mining tools.



v Excellent oral and written skills, as well as an established background in developing research collaborations.
