Who are we?

Founded in 1947 and headquartered just north of Chicago, the CAP is an established organization dedicated to improving patient care through advocacy, education and laboratory quality assurance. The CAP is the second largest medical association in the US (measured by revenues), the largest medical association exclusively supporting the specialty of pathology and the leading provider of clinical and anatomic pathology proficiency testing and laboratory accreditation serving the majority of hospitals, private laboratories and pathology practices in the United States. As the organization that developed and maintained SNOMED Clinical Terms® (SNOMED CT) for more than 40 years, SNOMED Terminology Solutions, a division of the College of American Pathologists, offers a variety of educational offerings and consulting services to assist in the implementation of SNOMED CT. SNOMED CT provides the core terminology for the electronic health record (EHR). When implemented into software applications, SNOMED CT provides clinically relevant information that populates the EHR. It offers the infrastructure to enable clinicians to share health care information across clinical specialties and sites of care.

The Position:

The Marketing/Marketing Communications Manager role within our SNOMED Terminology Solutions division (STS) is responsible for managing all aspects of marketing and marketing communications to achieve the strategic direction of CAPSTS with the primary focus on the promotion of the Education and Consulting products. Marketing responsibilities include development of marketing strategies/business project plans, promotional campaigns, measuring the effectiveness of campaigns, and pricing. Marketing communications responsibilities include develop of communication campaigns targeting key industry analysts and media contacts, and development and positioning of communications materials

We look for an individual who possesses a current and comprehensive knowledge of the international health care informatics market, especially in regards to the implementation and harmonization of clinical standards. You must be an expert in developing and delivering marketing concepts across a broad range of products to support product sales, preferably in the professional services arena. A BS/BA degree in business or similar is required, as well as a minimum of five years of marketing and/or marketing communications experience is necessary to be successful in this role.
