Medical Billing Specialist (senior)

Job Purpose:

Generates revenue by making payment arrangements; collecting accounts; monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts for Cardiology Diagnostic Imaging Center

Duties:

* responsible for submission and reimbursements of claims billed to company's insurance providers


* Maintains and monitors Medicare, Medicaid and all Managed Care collections; compiling information.

* Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS a MUST


* Reviews codes for billing accuracy and monitor billing operations for compliance including claim status appeals and resubmissions


* Collects delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients; monitoring payments; following up with patients when payment lapses occur.



* Post payments, must be able to read EOB's


* Maintains quality results by following standards.



* Collaborate with IT on design and development of in-house billing system software


* Enhances billing department  by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
