DescriptionThe Medical Education Manager (MEM) is responsible to provide clinical insight and leadership to the organization. This is accomplished through the development and implementation of education platforms and communication strategies that support marketing, research, education, and the field sales organization. They collaborate with sales leadership to participate in the development of strategic plans for target accounts. Connectivity to the sales force and customer base is essential as the manager works to develop and implement educational programs that meet the changing needs of clinicians and continue to differentiate Smtih & Nephew.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.•Develop educational platforms that influence Clinicans and Customer to integrate advanced wound therapy into clinical practice.•Lead the design, developement and delivery of multimedia education programs, which will maintain Smith & Nephew as a leader in both wound management and education.•Maintains current knowledge in specific therapy area including emerging therapies and scientific advances. •Develop in concert with the marketing/sales teams implementation strategies for key initiatives to include abstract submissions, symposia, and manuscripts for publication, peer review journals and/or presentation at key meetings.•Provide Clinical and Educaitonal leadersip for assigned focus product/market area. Develop educational program to support new product launches.•Support Clinical Research Program through activites related to processing clincians inqueries and suggestion on clinical evaluations and potential research studies. Identify and develop relationship with clinicians and clinical sites for CIME.•Encourage and support customers in developing case series presentations and posters.•Collaborate with the region vice-presidents to strategically offer programs that will drive the S&N business. •Collaborate with sales and marketing to identify needs for relationships with key clinicians and proactively identify and establish relationships with potential GWA faculty•Collaborate with Regional Vice Presidents to support Regionall goals related to education and business development.•Enhance professional profile in wound care such as presence on professional organizations, industry boards, advisory group’s etc.•Provide clinical support and collaborate with reimbursement and health economics team.Required SkillsCOMPUTER SKILLS:Requires highly developed computer skills for the purpose of carrying out day to day job responsibilities.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical: Position is 60% or more seated time. 40 – 70% travel time required, much of this local and national. Occasional lifting of objects weighing 10-20 pounds.Mental effort: Requires the development of educational programs and the ability to present thoughts and ideas in a logical, understandable fashion. Requires the ability to understand scientific data and to integrate it logically into published form.AUDIO/VISUAL DEMANDS: Requires highly developed verbal skills for the purpose of influencing key opinion leaders and creating understandable and accurate educational materials to be linked to bodies of scientific evidence and studies. Clarity of communication required to impart concepts to individuals with considerably less education and training in the field at the same time to individuals with much more education and influence in the area of diabetes.Required ExperienceQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of five to seven years experience in medical education, planning and development. The individual will possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent planning and implementation skills.
