Medical Practice Management Specialist

CMIC (Connecticut Medical Insurance Company) a leading medical malpractice insurer headquartered in Glastonbury, CT is seeking a Medical Practice Management Specialist. The primary function of this position is to provide loss prevention and practice management services to insured doctors and healthcare providers in CT.

Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Provides on-site consultation, practice reviews and medical record audits to insured clients.

2.  Maintains working knowledge of existing and emerging practice managment legal and regulatory issues, e.g., HIPAA Privacy Policies and Procedures.

3.  Provides telephone consultation on medical practice issues and responds to requests for information.

4.  Maintains relationships with practice managers and office staff.

5.  Develops written materials for distribution to insureds as appropriate.

Requirements

1.  Individual must possess Bachelor's Degree in medical, business or related discipline.

2.  Must have at least 5 years experience in medical practice management;experience in quality management/quality improvement initiatives.

3.  Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

4.  Must be able to work autonomously to meet goals.

5.  Should be proficient with Microsoft Office.
