Job Purpose: 

Billing & Follow-Up of Hospital Medicare/Medicaid Accounts.  THIS JOB MAY BE DONE FROM HOME!!

 

Duties:

 

* Billing of Medicare/Medicaid accounts via fiscal intermediary for various hospital clients.


 

* Follow-up with Fiscal Intermediary for payment or account collection status.


* Resolve account non payment issues resulting from invalid coding, missing documentation, and/or other miscellaneous reasons for non-payment of claim.


 

* Responsible for prompt account follow-up, EOB reviews for payment appropriateness or denials.


 

* Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures; reporting compliance issues.


* Maintains quality results by following standards.


* Protects hospital client's value by keeping collection information confidential.

 

* Enhances billing department and hospital client's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.



Skills/Qualifications:

* At least 2 years of 3rd Party billing experience (preferably governmental billing), including experience with utilization of fiscal intermediary.

 

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

 

* Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations, policies, & procedures.

 

* Ability to type 60 wpm.

 

* Knowledge of ICD9; CPT, DRG, and medical terminology codes a must.

 

* Knowledgeable in patient account work flows.
