Mental Health Residential Counselors

Position Summary:

Residential counselors work as part of a team providing guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports which allow adults who have long term mental illness to maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community, and develop the skills necessary for more independent living. Interactions between staff and consumers are guided by an appreciation for those being served as unique individuals and as adults. We believe that the heart of residential services lies in the ability to provide individualized support in a community setting that is based on each consumer's strengths, interests and needs.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or 3 years related experience.  Experience with adolescent behaviors strongly preferred.Ability to communicate in and comprehend the English language, including clearly documenting consumer progress and activities in program records, ability to work independently and to function as a member of a team.  Valid driver's license and dependable transportation required.
