Metrology Calibration Technician

We have the following opportunity at our state-of-the-art pharmaceutical production and formulation research and development facility in Research Triangle Park, N.C.


The Metrology Calibration Technician is responsible for performing all scheduled and unscheduled instrument calibrations supporting facility, laboratory, and the process operations to ensure GMP compliance, equipment/process reliability, and safety/environmental standards. This position is responsible for ensuring that calibration data is recorded utilizing good documentation practices, and is maintained in the calibration database and instrument files. The Metrology Calibration Technician is also responsible for the analysis and diagnosis of instrument failures and the recommendation for instrumentation improvements for existing equipment installations. This individual will also be an integral member of engineering project teams in defining new instrumentation and integration with PLC or DCS systems, as well as be part of project startup teams in assisting in defining instrument tolerances and criticality, installations, and initial calibrations.


To qualify, you must possess:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of instrumentation and field calibration experience; preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Experience working in a GMP compliant environment; good documentation practices
• Computer skills – Microsoft Office
• CMMS basic knowledge
