Job Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Accounting/Finance/Insurance Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Mission and Contribution of this position: Description Insures maximum cash flow and customer satisfaction by managing several critical components of the revenue cycle for St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and St. Luke's Community Medical Center – The Woodlands: Claims submission, collection of accounts receivable, contract compliance and resolution of health system revenue due from managed care payers (including managed Medicare plans). Performs this function by maintaining an extensive knowledge of 120 extremely complex managed care contracts and billing requirements associated with each, as well as state and federal collection laws. Must work collaboratively with other SLEHS departments and facilities to insure that internal processes work in a concerted fashion so that cash flow is maximized. To achieve optimum results the manager also must work with the health system managed care department and various payers to effectively manage challenges presented by these entities. Minimum Education: Four Year Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree/MBA Minimum years in field previous to employement: 5Minimum Job Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of hospital and physician billing and reimbursement;in-depth knowledge of hospital access and admission standards;time management and project management skills as well as group leadership skills. Excellent analytical, interpretive, evaluative and/or constructive thinking in addressing a variety of issues and circumstances. A mature approach to problem-solving for all types of issues. Working knowledge of medical terminology; possesses basic negotiating skills. Experience with total quality management concepts and tools are helpful. Bilingual abilities desirable. Additional experience with the following: HBOC Star Patient Accounting System Premis Electronic Claims submission software Ascent managed care contract compliance software ChartMaxx optical imaging/workflow software Passport insurance eligibility screening software Fiscal Intermediary Shared System - Medicare Fiscal Intermediary claims processing system.
