2 DIRECTOR POSITIONS!!!!!!

L&D and Post Partum Director
The women’s service will have 2 Director positions. One Director over NICU/Well baby and the other over L&D/Post Partum.

The candidate I am looking for in the L&D and Post partum position should have the following credentials: RN, Masters prepared preferred. 5 plus years experience at Director level Active membership in AWHONN and related professional organizations. NRP and RNC certified preferred. Experience with large patient base of 5000 plus births per year. Leadership skills managing large Labor and Delivery and Post Partum staff. Experience working with large OB/GYN Physician groups preferred Experience in growth and expansion of women’s services Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Salary $80-$110k DOE

L&D ~~ 50 FTE (expansion will at least double)
Postpartum ~~48 FTE (100 expansion)

This Medical Center will expand from a 13 bed LDR to a 27 bed LDR, 27 bed postpartum unit to a 63 bed postpartum unit, a 16 bed Level III NICU to a 36 bed Level III NICU, a 16 bed Nursery to a 32 bed Nursery and an 8 bed Antepartum unit.

Labor and Delivery

This area is currently experiencing rapid growth with the monthly delivery rate exceeding 400 deliveries. It includes 13 LDR's, 2 triage rooms, 2 bed recovery rooms for Cesarean Sections and other obstetrical related procedures. This area also has the unique feature of doing newborn transition in the mother's labor room, thus decreasing the separation time between mother and newborn to almost zero. If there is any need for separation, it rarely exceeds 30 minutes in the transition nursery. All staff are NRP, AWHONN-ELECTRONIC FETAL MONITORING certified. An educational push is being done to encourage RNC specialty certification, ALCS, and limited ultrasound training. Focus for education in the future will be for high risk OB. Nursing procedures encourage nursing qualifications to perform placement of fetal scalp electrodes, intrauterine pressure catheters, and do nursing amniotomy.

Post Partum

This is a 27 bed unit supporting couplet care. Lactation consultants are available seven days a week to encourage and support breast-feeding. All nurses are NRP certified and actively involved in patient education.
