Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center (CGSMC), located in Brockton, Massachusetts, is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital committed to bringing state-of-the-art medicine and procedures to its community in a comfortable setting close to home. CGSMC was formed in 1993 through the union of Goddard Memorial and Cardinal Cushing Hospitals and became a member of Caritas Christi Health Care System of the Archdiocese of Boston in 1999. The Medical Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to patients, the majority of whom live in 22 communities within the Brockton region.

 

The Medical Center is a full service, acute care, hospital licensed for 212 beds, 17 bassinets, and 10 Special Care bassinets providing service for 14,000 admissions, 7,000 surgical procedures and 55,000 emergency service visits annually.  Several new service initiatives are underway including a replacement facility for the current Emergency Room and the creation of the J. Joseph Moakley Imaging and Cancer Center. This center will provide access to a full range of services for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of cancer patients as well as the latest technological and diagnostic services.

 

Position Overview:

This is a key RN Patient Care Director overseeing general Medical-Surgery Services and Telemetry. This is comprised of a 28 bed unit and staffed by approximately 30 full time employee’s. You will run day-to-day operations in a union environment. We are looking for a strong Nurse Leader that can insure the efficient utilization of budgetary oversight, human resource utilization, physician satisfaction and patient satisfaction.

 

This is a highly visible role and we’re looking for a strong leader with proven problem solving skills. We’ll also be looking to leverage your team development, mentoring and people management skills in dealing with relationships and conflict management.

 

In addition we need somebody well versed in patient quality initiatives and technologically system savvy making sure we are leveraging our clinical system (Meditech) to the best of its abilities. We’ll also be leveraging your expertise to optimize the department infrastructure including people and systems to ultimately improve quality cost effective care that results in positive patient outcomes. This includes; Patient satisfaction, best of breed clinical practice, people management, professional development, performance improvement. Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years as a Nurse Manager in a Med-Surg setting

Require some knowledge and exposure to Telemetry

Minimum 3 years in a people leadership capacity 

BSN degree highly preferred

Graduate of NLN accredited school of Nursing preferred

Current MA license

We would even consider somebody in a big system in Supervisor role ready for Director

Exposure to a contemporary best practice nursing approach
