Key Responsibilities
The PACE clinic works to identify clinical contra-indications to surgery prior to the date of surgery. The goal is to address patient concerns and medical conditions in order to eliminate delays, avoid medical complications, minimize anesthesia risk, and improve surgical outcomes. The nurse practitioner will be responsible for daily oversight and activities of nursing staff within the PACE clinic, and will review patient charts, perform on-site patient assessment of current health status, perform history and physicals, order further testing, and review lab results and testing results. The nurse practitioner will work with the anesthesia providers and surgeons offices to ensure that relevent medical concerns have been addressed prior to approving the patient for surgery.

Job Requirements
Must have a current Maine license as Registered Professional Family Nurse Practitioner and current DEA certificate. Must have current BLS certification, ACLS certification must be obtained if not already certified. Independent status preferred. Experience in mental health preferred.
