Network Administrator

Objective:

As a key member of IT Services, this position is responsible for all aspects of network administration including routers, servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:Network administration – to include backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems, internet access, office systems and applications supportMaintain all servers including software and hardware troubleshooting, system repairs and maintenance.Install, configure, administer and maintain server based applications such as MS SQL 2000, Exchange 2003.Create, administer and maintain Active Directory user accounts, permissions, MS Exchange mailboxes and network resources Install and maintain standard and industry-specific application software and provides application training Perform nightly backup process which includes preparation for off-site facilities.Monitor server event log occurrences and troubleshoots accordinglyOversee the maintenance and repairs of all printers, copiers, scanners, and faxes Participate in various migrations and upgrade projectsDevelop and maintain up-to-date documentation of applications, systems and networking equipment.Implement all aspects of employee moves including phones, PC’s, monitors, and printersManage small to large sized projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedulesMaintain relationships with external vendors to facilitate daily operations. Ensure adherence to established management information systems policies and procedures.Assist with the design and maintenance of disaster recovery procedures and testing.

 Minimum Requirements:Proficient in Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP ProfessionalExpert knowledge of Exchange 2003Group policy experience within Active Directory domain policiesExpert in CISCO router & Switch Configurations (specifically 2821 series routers); CISCO Catalyst 400 core switch experience is a plusProficient in most off the shelf applications including Microsoft Office 2003 SuiteKnowledge of Network Attached Storage devices and EMC NAS platformAbility to quickly learn new software and administrative toolsProblem solving abilities; Exercises initiative and includes the appropriate people in the decision-making processSupports positive corporate culture and treats others with respect and consideration.Effectively communicates in both written and verbal form with all levels of staffExcels in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and executing responsibilities with minimal errorsAble to work productively both as part of a team and individuallyOutstanding customer service skills both internal and externalBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent combination of work experience and training Five to eight years of experience administering Windows network CCNA, CCNE, MCSE, MCSA, certifications preferred Candidate should be able to lift without assistance 25-50 lbs without physical limitation.  Candidate should be able to drive to other locations without assistance and perform some travel out of state with overnight stays as required.
