Network Consultant - Lenexa, KS

We serve a diverse customer base within the health care community, including health care payers, providers, employers, pharmaceutical companies, consumers, workers’ compensation and auto liability insurers, and government agencies.   Primary Responsibilities: Utilizing GeoNetworks® software to produce standard sets of reports and maps to illustrate the network access of a customer’s population to network providers Design and create ad-hoc reports and maps to meet the customer’s requirements when necessary Create  MS Access or other data files to summarize and/or present requested network access information Query database information for statistical information requested in RFPs/RFIs Participate on strategy calls working closely with consultants, external customers, and other internal organizations to determine the details of the incoming requests and develop a work plan to meet those requests Must create effective, credible working relationships internally with customers and consultants, in order to properly educate key stakeholders on report analysis information to help drive the sales process Create and run data queries using multiple data sources and formats Verification of accuracy and reasonableness of data Complete projects by the established deadline Qualifications: Proficient analytical skills. Must be able to analyze and ask appropriate questions when a project request is not clear and have a vision of the data requirements Ability to manipulate data to reach accurate conclusions based on standard report formats or ad-hoc requests Ability to comprehend the comparisons between provider networks and membership groups Ability to apply standard processes and procedures and project specifics to the review of a report to ensure accuracy and consistency across all pages Ability to work as part of a team, being respectful of the needs of others while making your needs known Ability to go above and beyond to meet the expectations of our customers Commitment to developing strong relationships with internal customers Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills High aptitude for grasping new system tools and applying effectively in reporting and analysis Project management skills - ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines Proficient computer skills-Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products Knowledge of the GeoAccess-branded Ingenix products desired - GeoNetworks, DisruptionAnalysis, GeoCoder, and DataCleaner a plus Previous experience of the managed care industry beneficial Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: equal opportunity employer M/F/D/V UnitedHealth Group is a drug-free workplace.  Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
