Job Details:
Eligibilty & Term: In order to be eligible for hire as a New Graduate, the applicant must have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and should take the NCLEX-RN exam within ninety (90) days of hire. If the New Graduate holds a current licensed practical nurse licensure in the State of Maine, she/he may provide nursing care within that level of licensure. An individual may hold the position of New Graduate only until his/her receipt of results of the NCLEX-RN esam taken most recently after hire. Upon notification of having attained a passing score on the NCLEX-RN exam, the New Graduate becomes a Registered Nurse when he/she presents a valid license. Failure to attain a passing score will result in the immediate termination from employment as a New Graduate. A New Graduate whose employment is terminated as a result of his/her failure to achieve licensure, may apply for any other open position with CMHC for which he/she is qualified. Job Summary: Under the continuous, on-site supervision of a registered professional nurse preceptor, the New Graduate, Medical Oncology Unit: provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical oncology setting; communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology; is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responses to treatment; additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with continuous supervision.

Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current documented eligibility to test for the NCLEX-RN as deemed by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Current BCLS certification.

Skills: Basic Computer Knowledge.
