Assists Nurse Manager with ensuring that quality nurse care is delivered to all patients and his/her units in accordance with the philosphy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Provides input into evaluations of stafff performance in accordance with organization policies. Participates in nursing Quality Improvement. Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients. Uses an understadning of the principles of growth and development assess each patient's age specific needs and provide age specific treatment care. Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Special Equipment/Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational ability, nurse manangement and leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise in area standards. Work Environment and Hazards: Hazards include risk of exposure to communicable diseases. Risk of injury from lifting patients and operation of equipment, and from exposure to caustic substances. Work Contact Group: All patient related hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel and medical staff. Special Physical Demands: Must meet requirements of the ADA (attached). Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and transfer and transport patients. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Stands and walks for the most of the working day.
